     FONASBA QUALITY STANDARD for SHIP BROKERS and AGENTS has been awarded with effect from 21 June 2010 to following ASBAC Members:

Pursuant to Article 62 and 820 of the Maritime Code (Official Gazette 181/04, 76/07 and 148/08) the vessel entering Croatian port must present in advance the photocopies of the following:

1. Certificate of Insurance or other financial security in respect of civil liability for Oil pollution damage - only for vessels carrying more than 2.000 tons of oil in bulk as cargo.

2. Certificate of Insurance or other financial security in respect of civil liability for bunker Oil pollution damage.

3. Certificate of Insurance or other financial security to cover the costs of reporting, locating and wreck removal.

On behalf of the President, Tonny Paulsen, the Executive Committee and members of FONASBA we congratulate Capt. Karmelic on his election as
Chairman and we look forward to continuing the excellent cooperation we enjoyed with his predecessor Miljenko Tudor.

I have updated the information as per your advices and you will note that I have changed the e-mail name of the association. In the current list of
members I have shown you as the contact, I trust this is OK.

The idea of the "Best Agent" is very good. I am not aware of any other association that has a similar scheme but if it helps to promote
professionalism and a high level of service to principals then it has our support.

U ime kolektiva Milenij hotela, osoblja hotela Milenij, direktora g. Jovanovića i moje osobno Vam zahvaljujemo na ovakvom divnom pismu. Izuzetno smo počašćeni Vašim impresijama koje imate prema našem hotelu  Milenij u odnosu na svjetske metropole u kojem je Vaša cijenjena Udruga imala slične evente.  

Mi ćemo i dalje ulagati u naše osoblje i kvalitetu hotela, a ovakva pismo daju nam poticaja da još više napredujemo! 

I naravno, očekujemo Vas ponovno u našim hotelima kao naše drage goste!

Nakon završetka, vjerujem, uspješne godišnje skupštine FONASBA-e želio bih Vam zahvaliti na Vašim naporima i odlučnosti da dovedete ovaj značajan događaj u Opatiju. Izuzetno nam je drago što smo imali priliku biti domaćin ovom svjetskom udruženju i vjerujem da su svi sudionici skupštine imali ugodan i nezaboravan boravak u Opatiji.

As from 1 July 2004 according to IMO's SOLAS ISPS Code requirements the vessels must report to Harbour Master and Port Facility Security Officer (via Ship Agent) 48 hrs before ETA (or immediately on sailing in case of shorter sea distance):

  1. Vessel's name
  2. Vessel's flag
  3. IMO number
  4. MMSI number
  5. Vessel's position at the moment of sending message
  6. Port name and ETA
  7. Confirmation that the vessel has valid or interim ISSC certificate, date when     
      certificate expire and name of issuing organization
  8. Security level on board
  9. Last 10 ports of call and security level in these ports
10. Special and additional measures taken in these 10 ports

Failing to comply may result in vessel's delay or even prevention to enter the port.

• On the assembly of the Association held in Rijeka on 25 February 2002 new members were accepted: GLOBE MARINE from Rijeka and REA DUBROVNIK.
  
• Europeam Intermodal Association (EIA) on assembly held in Barcelona on 31 January 2002 accepted UPAH membership.
  
• On the assembly of the Association held in Rijeka on 4 December 2000 new members were accepted: COUNTRY CLUB from Rovinj and DR-ADRIA from Rijeka.
  
• CAPRIS-CROATIA fom Rijeka was expelled from the Membership of ASBAC on 20 March 2000.
  
• ASBAC issued on March 2000 prof. dr. sc. Vojslav Borcic's book: "Contract on Maritime Agency - Comments on Maritime Code of the Republic of Croatia".
  
• ASBAC issued on 1999 prof. dr. sc. Vojslav Borcic's bilingual book: "International and Croatian regulations on the Maritime Agent".
